Check-In-Check-Out

This program allows students who need additional support to select their own goals that will help them become successful academically and personally. Students report to a check-in-check-out mentor at the beginning and end of the day to quickly review their long term and short term goals. They must "check-in " with each of their four teachers who rate how they are doing meeting their goals on a daily basis. Students enjoy having someone help them become accountable and self-motivated while being rewarded for "taking care of business."

Mentor

Some students need additional support in areas that need further adult support. Students in this program are assigned an additional mentor to give them someone they can "go to" or meet with to help them achieve goals that will allow them to address their social, emotional, behavioral, and/or academic needs.

Self-monitoring

Students who do not necessarily want to participate in any of the programs offered at this level may choose to write a contract and set goals with one of the PBIS mentors and then self-monitor themselves throughout the specified time period established at the initial meeting. The PBIS mentor will then meet with the student to review and see if the student accomplished his/her goals and write new goals or modify the goals in place. This allows for students to have autonomy over their learning but also gives them a timeline as to when they need to be able to celebrate successes with their PBIS mentor.

RTI

Airline High School is dedicated to help all students become successful with their academic experience. Response to Intervention is a part of our culture and is important to helping all of our students master the essential standards needed for success.

RTI is offered to all students who are in EOC courses and to several of our other courses. Student data is reviewed by our teachers and determine who would benefit from additional instructional time. RTI is offered weekly during our "A" day time. Students are invited to attend (attendance is non-negotiable) and then meet with the teachers for additional help. Students may also request to be scheduled for RTI.

Analysis of our RTI data continues to show that students perform better academically after attending this specialize opportunity.
