Welcome to my class! This year is going to be a great one!

I believe that every child has the ability to reach their fullest potential through hard work, collaborating with their classmates, teachers, and parents, and engaging in activities that get them interested and learning new things!

We use Zearn for math and Science Studies Weekly for science. Both programs allow students to work together as a whole class, independently, and in a teacher-led small group with more individualized attention. They will also work with manipulatives, both physical and digital. Your child will get the opportunity to learn in many different ways!

About the teacher

I am part of a military family, and because of that I was born in Germany, lived in Shreveport while my dad was stationed at Barksdale AFB, moved to Vandenburg AFB in Southern California and lived on base until 4th grade, finished my education up to high school in Los Angeles, then moved back to Shreveport for college in 2011 (phew!). I graduated from Centenary College with a Bachelors in 2015 and a Masters in Teaching in 2018.

I have family in Shreveport, namely my mom, stepdad, little brother (14) and sister (15). I also have family in California and Oregon. My dad, older brother, aunt and uncle live in different parts of California and my grandparents live in Portland. I am blessed to have the chance to visit them every year! I have also been to multiple states in the U.S. as well as places around the world with my family like Tahiti, the Phillipines, and England.

My innate love for children, learning, and teaching children to love learning is what keeps me going everyday in the classroom! I love being a Curtis Tiger surrounded by the amazing leadership at this school, and especially your children and you, the parents!! Please do not hesitate to email, call, or schedule a meeting if you have any questions or concerns.

Go Tigers!
