Many young people have thoughts that are scary, dark, and just "not right". This is actually more common than you think.
Suicidal thoughts, thoughts of "what would it be like without me" . . . lots of people think like this. That doesn't mean you're suicidal. It doesn't mean you're depressed. It means you are human - and you know life is precious.
Suicide is a PERMANENT solution to a temporary problem.
What do you do if you know someone who has these types of thoughts?
TELL SOMEONE - come to the counselor with your teacher's permission (I'm in Room 300), send a counselor form, talk to a trusted adult - don't hold onto this secret. It's too big for one person.
Talk to them - Sometimes we need to share our big feelings with someone we trust
Be there for them
Help them to see their value - how amazing they are.
Remind them that they can get better - with the right help.
