Everyone needs someone that they can talk to when they are having a hard time, or when they are worried about a friend.
Always tell someone if you suspect that someone is in danger of hurting themselves (even if it is you!)
If you notice that someone isn't acting the way they usually do - if they are sad for many days at a time, they are not talking as much, they aren't eating the way they normally do - talk to them.
Asking someone if they are okay lets them know that you care about them. They might confide in you when they aren't comfortable talking to someone else about what's going on.
You could save someone's life.
