Hygiene
Take Care of Yourself!
Let's talk about Personal Hygiene!
Summer weather is still here, even though we've started school.
It is the perfect time to perfect your hygiene routine.
Having good hygiene will help you physically (you'll be sick less) and socially (smelling and looking nice). And don't you enjoy being around people who smell clean?
Brushing Your Teeth
Brush your teeth every morning and every night. Not only does this rid your mouth of bacteria, but it also makes your breath smell better.
(Ever taken a whiff of someone's mouth when they haven't brushed? UGH!)
Handwashing
Wash your hands every time you use the restroom, before you eat, after you touch public surfaces, or if you touch your face.
Wash Your Face
Your face produces oils, and when you touch your face it transfers bacteria to your face. Wash your face befor bed and when you wake up each morning.
Take a Shower/Bath
Take a shower every day (or every other day).
Not only will this help you sleep if you do it before bed, it can help wake you up in the morning.
Wash Your Feet
You're at the age where your body produces more sweat, and your feet sweat more than you realize!
(Also, wear socks with your shoes!)
Put on Deodorant/Antiperspirant
Again, you're going to sweat. Your underarms emit odor when bacteria is there.
Don't make others have to smell you!
Wear Clean Clothes
You should change your clothes every day and wear clean ones. Yes, you can wear your jeans twice.
No, you shouldn't wear your underwear twice!
Wear clean underwear every day!
Wash Your Hair
Washing your hair two or three times a week helps get rid of oil build up and bacteria on your scalp.
Keeping your hair clean and neat is important.
Stop Biting Your Nails
Keep your fingernails and toenails clean. Don't bite your nails. There is so much bacteria underneath your nails - it can make you really sick!
It's also important to clean under your fingernails when you bathe/shower.
