Dear School Street School Families,
Dear School Street School Families,
Thanks a million for helping to make our first week of school a true success! The teachers and I greatly appreciated the notes of encouragement and small victories that were achieved this week. We appreciate your patience as we navigate our new teaching mode. We will continue to adjust in order to create the most optimal learning environment for our children!

KINDERGARTEN NEWS
This week kindergartners met their new teachers and classmates, albeit remotely, and learned some useful tools they will employ during distance learning. Special thanks to all parents and caregivers for their patience and understanding as we confirm passwords, usernames and website information. Starting next week, look for more detailed updates which will outline the most important themes and lessons for the week. We hope to "see" you all on Thursday, September 17th at School Street School's FIRST EVER virtual Back to School Night!

FIRST GRADE NEWS
FIRST GRADE NEWS
Our first graders have spent their first week of school showing their perseverance by learning our new virtual platform, Seesaw. They participated in many get-to-know you activities over Google Meets in order to learn more about their classmates and teachers. We look forward to navigating this new virtual way of learning together! We thank our parents for being so amazingly patient, not only with their children, but also with the first grade teachers as we try to get through the initial challenges and unknowns. We hope we can make the best of this time for our students and that we get to be back in the SSS building soon!

SECOND GRADE NEWS
SECOND GRADE NEWS
We want to thank the students, families, and caregivers of our students for a successful transition into the first week of virtual-school. We are so grateful for how patient you all have been as we navigate new online platforms, and so proud that you are already showing so many of your strengths through technology. As a friendly reminder, please remember to follow the daily schedule your teachers have created; sign-in on time for google meets and complete the assignments in Seesaw for that day. If you have any questions or concerns please let us know. Next week, we will begin our iReady assessments to help gather data to help us create plans that truly meet our students' needs. It is especially important that we allow students to work independently on these assessments in order to capture the true strengths and needs of each student. Together we can do hard things!
