JOHN HILL SCHOOL WEEKLY UPDATE

WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 24, 2018

THANK YOU!

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for Back to School Night yesterday. It was a pleasure to come together as we continue our efforts to best support the children in our care. For those of you who were not able to join us, you can find a link to our introductory presentation below. Our primary focus, as we begin a new school year with a new JHS structure, is sharing our vision of enriching the lives of students on a daily basis and empowering them to be impactful citizens. This vision aligns with a broader district-wide initiative to promote a "Portrait of a Graduate." This "Portrait of a Graduate" encompasses the qualities that we hope all of our students possess upon graduation from high school and also emphasizes a belief that we all play pivotal roles throughout our students' developmental years to promote such positive outcomes - and to ultimately empower our students. The Boonton "Portrait of a Graduate" includes the following 5 qualities...

Self Belief

Critical Thinking & Problem Solving

Personal Responsibility

Metacognition/Understanding How We Learn

Resilience

We look forward to continuing to work together to cultivate these qualities and thank you for all of your support as we have resumed this work at the start of the school year!

Sincerely,

Sara Brogan & Tom Valle
