BCS Growing with Canvas

A Canvas training course has been created for all BCS teachers. The BCS Growing with Canvas - Teacher Training course includes seven modules. The first six modules of the course are for all new or novice Canvas users but serve as a great resource for our experienced users. The seventh module covers specific Canvas practices of Boone County Schools. The course is set so that all teachers can move freely through the modules.

Participants in this course will watch videos, use Canvas documentation, complete activities, and participate in discussions to learn and apply Canvas features. Along the way, teachers will earn BCS Growing With Canvas - Teacher Training badges to demonstrate their accomplishments.

Each Module contains about 45 to 65 minutes worth of videos. Participants should plan on 1.5 to 2 hours per Module to watch the videos, try the things that are demonstrated in the videos, and submit the activities along the way. Each Module also has an optional self-check assessment. Teachers can use these to check understanding as they progress through the course. The final Module (Harvesting the Boone County Way) is not included in the badging process.
