Welcome to Carnegie! In Language Arts this year, students will work on their skills in reading, writing, presenting, and discussing real and fictional topics and stories. We place a heavy emphasis on communication and reflection, so students will present often about a variety of topics and will also write reflective pieces about their experiences in and out of class.

Much of our work will be physical, pen and paper work, with discussion, debate, and presentation included for stronger skill building along the way. We will use iPads and digital tools as well, but not nearly as often as physical media.

This page will be a good resource to check for due dates on summative projects and upcoming events; check the calendar for any big due dates, and, for digital work, ask your student to show you Synergy on a regular basis to know how they are doing on their work. Remember, just because it is "marked as done" or "turned in" doesn't mean it is done well; ask to see the assignment, too!
