Class overview
This year we are focusing on building community. We will explore our strengths and grow where we need to. The expectation is that you do your best and have fun. If there is ever anything that makes you feel bad, sad, unappreciated or even frustrated, let's talk about it so we can make things right! I am on on your side and I am here to help you as much as I am able to.
We will try new things and do our best to have a great year. I am looking forward to learning more about each of you.
About me
My name is Leslie Hudson, but everyone calls me Jimmy. I am a seasoned soccer player (forward), morel hunter, bowhunter (compound), ice fisherman, and disc jockey. I also enjoy biking and cultivating gardens in the spring and summer times. I am Jamaican by birth and have spent most of my life in Jamaica. I am a graduate of the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana with a Bachelors degree in elementary education and a graduate of the Moneague Multidisciplinary College in Saint Ann, Jamaica with a 4 year teaching diploma. I have over ten years experience working with 5th grade students and I am having an amazing time teaching in Bonner School.
I am passionate about teaching and emphasize a hands-on approach to learning; whenever possible. I challenge my students and engage them in critical thinking using a variety of activities. I believe that every child has the ability to learn and I take great satisfaction and pride in helping each student find his or her way.
My ultimate aim as a teacher is to make each student feel accomplished and confident in their abilities. For them to own their learning experience and take pride in their efforts and always do their best.
