Adjunct Handbook

Department of Educational Technology - https://www.boisestate.edu/education-edtech/

Overview

The Department of Educational Technology at Boise State University offers a variety of online programs and coursework. The majority of openings for adjunct faculty are to teach online graduate courses, although we do have some undergraduate teaching opportunities. Adjunct faculty bring a wealth of experience and expertise and are valued as instructors for the department. Many of our adjuncts live at a distance from campus and teach online from their home location, which is convenient and flexible as a telecommuting teaching position.

Qualifications to teach graduate courses for EDTECH include an Ed.D. or Ph.D. in Educational Technology or related field, and experience teaching online and/or designing online curriculum. Evidence of successful teaching (e.g., course evaluations) is required. The pay range follows the Adjunct Step Rates with two regular compensation levels for adjunct instructors as established by the Provost.

Please note that adjunct positions are part time, non-benefit-eligible, temporary, with appointments offered for one semester at a time. Refer to Boise State University policy #4220 for additional information about the terms of employment, rights and privileges for adjunct faculty.

This handbook serves as a user guide for adjunct faculty with a collection of information about teaching for the EDTECH program at Boise State University. Review the information on each page to learn about expectations and procedures that are relevant to all adjunct faculty.
