I would like to congratulate Robinson Wells for winning Wrestler of the Week. Robinson has worked exceptionally well in the room. He is a constant reminder that we can see success in more ways than 'Wins & Losses'. He came to every optional practice during the Thanksgiving break, when it was not required to do so, and worked harder than every other kid on the mat. Congrats Robinson, you earned it! GO RAMS!!

End of the Season Tournaments: City & State

Hey everyone,

We only have a week left in the season! Talk about quick. I just want to bring a couple of things to attention before the end. First, our City Championship is this Friday at Capital High School starting at 1:00 PM. This is the last opportunity for all of our wrestlers to go out and prove what they have learned over the course of this season.

The next item on the agenda is an opportunity for the kids to keep wrestling a week longer if they are interested. There is a Middle School State Tournament on Saturday, December 17th at Mt. View High School. This is an optional tournament that anyone can join if they choose to do so, but it is an awesome opportunity that I highly recommend. You can register here. The flyer for the tournament can also be found here.

Thank you parents and wrestlers,

--Coach Taylor

It is that time again. The Wrestler of the Week for week 4 is Cody Leishman. Cody helped his team secure a victory against East and tie against South, a team that we lost to previously this season. He finished the week with a 3-1 record, with all 3 of those wins being pins. Congrats Cody! GO RAMS!!

Week 2 of Duals

Our second week of competition came and went just as fast as the first. This week, we first met up with East and Les Bois. We beat East 51-42, but then we were overpowered by the strength of Les Bois, losing 96-9. Yesterday, we bounced back against South, as we came so close to a victory but ended up tying 51-51. Next, we faced West, where we saw some great matches, but failed to come out on top as we lost 66-36. Great job to Ehler Say, Anomul Subba, and Cody Leishman as they all finished the week 3-1 against their foes. Now, we get to look forward to a week of rest before we come back with our next home match, on November 27th. Have a great break and as always, GO RAMS!!

With Parent-Teacher conferences being a couple weeks ago, we were not able to name a Wrestler of the Week last week. That means that this time, we will name two. First, I want to announce Giovanni Ursillo as our first winner. Gio did a great job, as he stepped up and wrestled a weight class higher to fill a void. While wrestling up, he secured an intense overtime win against one of the top wrestlers in the city.

Our second winner is Amelia Scarrow. She has shown, day-in and day-out, what it means to strive towards victory, even though it doesn't always result in as a Win in the Win-Loss column. She works hard, and sets a great example for others to follow.

Congrats to these two Rams!!

Great start to the Season!

The season has started this week and it has been nothing short of awesome! We started our first set of duals on November 6th, where we beat Fairmont 54-36. We then faced Riverglen. We were not able to keep traction, as we lost 22-83. Yesterday, we saw vast improvement when we took on North and South. We ousted North 52-51, behind the big wins from Giovanni Ursillo and Sophia Bain. Our next match up was against South. They narrowly escaped our grasp, coming out on top as we lost 44-46. Our record is now 2-2 on the season, but look to bounce back from our losses and keep improving. Go Rams!

Team Captain & WOTW Wk. 2

We have finally been able to name our Team Captain for the season. Being the Team Captain is an enormous responsibility. It takes a lot to be successful in this role. However, I believe that the wrestler that was chosen will have no problem in leading this team to greatness. Congratulations Cooper Shimatsu on being named the Team Captain for the 2017 season.

Not only was the Captain named today, but our second Wrestler of the Week was awarded. This wrestler worked very hard in both practice and in matches throughout the week. With some nail-biting matches, this athlete deserved every bit of the prize after a successful start to the season. Congratulations Sophia Bain on winning the Wrestler of the Week.

Wrestler of the Week (WOTW) WEEK 1

Lets give a round of congratulations to our first winner of the wrestler of the week award of the 2017 season, Grace Wontorcik. Congrats Grace, and good luck this season!
