Sports Medicine Staff
Greg Mitchell MA, LAT, ATC (Head Athletic Trainer)
Greg is the head athletic trainer for Borah High School. He is also currently teaching sports medicine and health professions classes. Greg is a 1994 graduate with bachelor’s degree from Northwest Nazarene University and a 2002 graduate of Lesley University with a master’s degree. He began his career as a teacher/athletic trainer at Coeur d’ Alene High School from 1994-1999. It was in 1999 that he made the move to Borah High School and has been here ever since.
Dr. Jennifer Miller (Borah Directing/Team Physician)
Dr. Jennifer Miller is our directing physician and has served as the team physician for Borah High School since 2004. She is employed with Idaho Sports Medicine Institute. Dr. Miller is also team physician for BSU athletics. Dr Miller is a Boise native. She completed her undergraduate degree and the School of Medicine at the University of Washington, then an Orthopedic residency at Oregon Health & Sciences University and a Sports Medicine fellowship with the Congress Medical Associates in Pasadena,CA. Currently Dr. Miller is serving as the Medical Director and Board Member for Make A Wish Idaho. She was also the former Medical Director for Special Olympics Idaho.
Jessica Kerns MS, LAT, ATC (Assistant Athletic Trainer)
Jessica started as an assistant athletic trainer with Borah High School in 2017. She is also teaching health professions and medical terminology classes. She graduated from Idaho State University with a master's degree. Jessica also worked for one year at Timberline High School as a teacher and assistant athletic trainer prior to coming to Borah.
Joanna Schisel LAT, ATC (Assistant Athletic Trainer)
Joanna was previously an assistant athletic trainer with Borah High School and now returns to help us again. She graduated from University of Idaho with a bachelor’s and masters degree. She currently works full time with St Luke's.
