Principles of AAVTC is the foundational class in the AAVTC pathway. Students will learn the fundamentals of Audio/Video Production, Graphic Design, and Animation. Students will learn basic software skills associated with the AAVTC pathway as well as learn valuable professional skills to set the foundation for a career inside AAVTC. Students will become familiar with industry standard software. Students will also learn to authentic work using individual expression and collaboration. Principles of Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications provides a basic exploration of the elements of design. Students utilize a variety of media to explore individual expression and learn to analyze their own and others’ work to further their artistic growth.
GRAPHIC DESIGN AND ILLUSTRATION I + Animation (#5521)
Graphic Design and Illustration I spans all aspects of the advertising and visual communication industries. Within this context, students develop an understanding of the industry with a focus on fundamental elements and principles of design, visual art, and graphic design and illustration. Careers in animation and graphic design & illustration span all aspects of the advertising, visual communication, and animation industries. Students will be expected to develop an understanding of the industry with a focus on fundamental elements and principles of visual art and design as well as producing multimedia presentations to deliver a message.
GRAPHIC DESIGN AND ILLUSTRATION II (#5626)
Graphic Design and Illustration II provides students with the opportunity to develop an advanced understanding of the content knowledge and skills mastered in the previous course. Advanced Graphic Design and Illustration students will develop an advanced understanding of the industry with a focus on mastery of content knowledge and skills. Students will be expected to gain certification in industry-based software as well as participate in other portfolio building activities and competitions promoting campus, district, and community enrichment.
Practicum in Graph Design and Illustration students develop a technical understanding of the industry with a focus on skill proficiency. Instructional may be developed through lab-based classroom experience or career preparation opportunities. Students in Graphic Design and Illustration practicum will participate in a work-based learning environment either in-district or within the Graphic Design industry. Students will complete the course gaining workplace skills and experience necessary to be serviceable employees within the industry.
