Meet Your Westwood Counselors

Miss Olivito

Miss Olivito is from Clarksburg, WV. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Counseling from West Virginia University. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor and Professional School Counselor with over 5 years of experience working with children from Pre-K to college and teaching English, leading outdoor expeditions, and counseling. She splits her time between Westwood Middle School and Skyview Elementary and is here on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. She enjoys running, hiking, traveling, and trivia.

Mrs. Alm

Mrs. Alm is from Morgantown, West Virginia. She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Fairmont State University and her Master's degree in School Counseling from Marshall University. She is a full-time counselor at Westwood Middle School. She enjoys traveling with her husband, reading, and playing with her two dogs, Piper and Embry.
**Mrs. Alm will be out on maternity leave for the remainder of the school year (23-24).

Mrs. Lisle

Mrs. Lisle is here to help out while Mrs. Alm is out on maternity leave. She is here on Tuesday and Friday.

Counseling Overview: What We Provide

The counseling department at Westwood provides 4 essentials types of services:

1) Counseling - Individual, "couple", and small-group counseling sessions

This covers everything imaginable that students struggle with, including depression, self-harm, bullying, anxiety, trouble at home, difficulty with peers, etc.

2) Classroom Content - Classroom-based lessons and content provided to students during their normally scheduled class times

3) Pantry Support Programs - Multiple school-based pantries that provide students with goods and services to make their lives easier

Includes food, school supplies, and clothing

4) Outside referrals and coordination with community-based counselors - We are able to refer students who require more long-term care to suitable community-based counselors and agencies, and coordinate with them to ensure students receive the best services possible
