Jennifer and Charles Pre-k

This is a zoom meeting I began recording after Taura's Spanish lesson (because I forgot to push record). At the end of this video, I sing one of our favorite songs, "Ain't Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around." As a white lady, I sing it with humility and respect for the black power civil rights movement that it came out of. Since this recording, we have added the verse, "Ain't gonna let systemic racism turn me 'round." A version of this song by The Freedom Singers, is also attached. PS, the name of the artist who created the portrait of Marsha P. Johnson is Johanna Toruño.

Esta es una reunión de zoom que comencé a grabar después de la lección de español de Taura (porque olvidé presionar la grabación). Al final de este video, canto una de nuestras canciones favoritas, "Ain't Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around". Como mujer blanca, la canto con humildad y respeto por el movimiento de derechos civiles del poder negro del que surgió.
