I love my bridge. I really enjoyed building the deck and attaching the cables. I liked the design of a cable stayed bridge. Did you know the Brooklyn bridge is a cable stayed - suspension bridge?
It was a little tricky to decide what materials to use for the towers but we tried out two versions: a bundle of skewers and paper towel rolls. The paper towel roll was the most secure! The cables were also tricky but we used the skewers to feed the cables through the towers and tie it to the deck! My mom helped me with some of the tricky parts and we decided we are a good team of builders. It was really cool to see how the tension worked to hold the deck up. We used all recycled materials we found in our house!
The bridge is called Lincoln Bridge after my cat, Lincoln. She watched me build and kept wanting to play with all the materials.
I was really proud when I finished building the bridge and love playing with it!
