Welcome to the School Counseling Page!
Our elementary school counseling program is here to support the academic, social, emotional, and career development of all students in grades K–5. The goal is to help every child succeed in school and in life by fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.
🧠 What Does the School Counselor Do?
As the school counselor, I work with students, parents, and staff to support students well-being and success. The counseling program includes:

One-on-one support is available to help students navigate challenges such as:
Friendship or peer issues
Family changes
Emotional regulation
Academic concerns
Referrals may come from teachers, parents, or students themselves.
🤝 Small Group Counseling
Small groups offer students the chance to connect with peers who may be experiencing similar challenges or goals. Common group topics may include:
Friendship and social skills
Self-esteem and confidence
Coping with anxiety or changes
Conflict resolution
🏫 Classroom Guidance Lessons
Throughout the year, I visit each classroom one time per month to teach lessons on important topics such as:
Empathy and kindness
Bullying prevention
Growth mindset
Problem-solving
Emotional awareness
These lessons align with our school’s social-emotional learning goals support a positive school climate.
👩🏫 Collaborating for Student Success
In addition to working directly with students, I am a member of the following support teams:
📘 Child Study Team (CST)
I participate in CST meetings to help identify and support students who may benefit from additional academic or behavioral interventions.
🌱 Student Assistance Program (SAP)
As a SAP team member, I help identify students who may be facing barriers to learning and connect them with appropriate school or community resources.
💼 Annual Career Fair
Each Fall, we host our Annual Career Fair, for grades 3-5, an exciting event where students explore different careers, meet community professionals, and begin to think about their future goals in a fun and age-appropriate way!
