EMBRACING A NEW CHAPTER
The first day of school at BMCS was filled with excitement, laughter, and warm reunions. As students walked through the gates with bright smiles and curious eyes, the atmosphere buzzed with the promise of new beginnings. Our educators welcomed learners with open hearts, ready to spark inquiry, creativity, and joy in the learning journey ahead. Classrooms came alive with engaging activities, and even our youngest learners settled in with confidence and wonder. From cheerful morning greetings to story time and hands-on exploration, every moment reflected our commitment to nurturing a love for learning. We look forward to a year of growing minds, kind hearts, and meaningful connections. Here's to a wonderful academic year ahead — full of curiosity, discovery, and triumphs big and small.
Our Upper KG learners at BMCS engaged in a hands-on, creative activity by making different patterns using clay. This playful yet purposeful experience allowed children to explore shapes, textures, and sequences while strengthening their fine motor skills. Rooted in the IB PYP philosophy, this activity encouraged inquiry, exploration, and self-expression—key elements of early childhood development. As learners rolled, pressed, and shaped the clay, they were not only building patterns but also engaging in transdisciplinary learning by connecting math, art, and language through conversations and reflections.
The open-ended nature of the task supported learner agency and honoured individual creativity. At BMCS, we believe in nurturing young minds through authentic, child-led experiences that promote curiosity, confidence, and collaboration. These moments in the early years lay the foundation for lifelong learning and embody the essence of the IB learner profile—thinkers, communicators, and inquirers.
Upper KG earners at BMCS had a joyful, messy, and imaginative time engaging in a straw painting activity! As part of their art exploration, children coloured an elephant splashing water, bringing the scene to life in a truly interactive way.
Where the water was splashing, learners blew coloured water through straws, creating beautiful patterns that mimicked real splashes. This activity not only enhanced their fine motor and oral motor skills but also encouraged creative thinking and self-expression.
Aligned with the IB PYP philosophy, the experience fostered agency, inquiry, and joyful learning, allowing learners to make choices, experiment, and observe cause and effect. It was a delightful example of how art and imagination can come together to support developmental goals in a playful environment. At BMCS, we celebrate such moments where our young inquirers explore the world with curiosity, confidence, and creativity.
BMCS celebrated English Language Day with joy, creativity, and a deep appreciation for stories through our vibrant Storybook Character Day. The day began with a special assembly where students were introduced to the concepts of fiction and non-fiction. Teachers showcased a variety of books from both genres, helping learners understand the differences and appreciate the value of each. To deepen the experience, students also engaged in a creative activity where they drew one fiction character and one non-fiction figure, blending imagination with knowledge. From dragons and superheroes to real-life explorers and animals, their drawings beautifully captured the spirit of storytelling and discovery. This celebration nurtured a love for reading, sparked curiosity, and strengthened comprehension skills—truly reflecting the language-rich environment we foster at BMCS.
BMCS marked International Earth Day with vibrant enthusiasm and awareness as our Early Years and Primary Years learners came together to honour our planet. The day began with a special assembly where learners shared songs, poems, and thoughtful messages about protecting the Earth. Their voices echoed the importance of sustainability, conservation, and mindful living. After the assembly, students participated in a fun and educational sorting activity, where they identified recyclable and non-recyclable materials. Adding to the celebration, learners also created colourful Earth Day posters, expressing their ideas through art and creativity. These posters beautifully reflected their understanding of how small actions can make a big difference. Through these engaging activities, our young learners took meaningful steps toward becoming responsible and environmentally conscious citizens. At BMCS, we are proud to nurture hearts and minds that care for the world around them.
Our EYP and PYP learners had a delightful and enriching day at Kisna Nature Park, Surat, where learning met adventure in the lap of nature. The trip began with a visit to the aquarium, where curious eyes lit up at the sight of colourful fish and aquatic life. Learners then explored the bird sanctuary, observing a variety of bird species while listening to their calls and learning about their habitats. One of the most heartwarming parts of the trip was meeting the many friendly dogs at the park. Children interacted with them gently, learning the values of kindness, empathy, and care for animals. This field trip was not only educational but also offered learners a hands-on experience with the natural world. At BMCS, we believe such outdoor explorations ignite curiosity, deepen understanding, and build lasting memories.
