Welcome to Calhoun High School Counseling & Wellness
The Counseling & Wellness Department at Sanford H. Calhoun High School consists of seven school counselors, six members of the clinical team and three clerical support staff. Counselors work with students throughout the school day to address a range of needs including academic, social-emotional, post-secondary planning and overall wellness.
Students are assigned a counselor in 9th grade and will remain with them for the remainder of high school. Meetings with counselors will include annual academic reviews and group sessions on a variety of topics such as career exploration and an introduction to the college application process with an emphasis on future planning and goal setting.
Throughout your time at Calhoun, you will have the opportunity to attend a number of events sponsored by the Counseling & Wellness department including Freshmen Parent Night, Junior College Planning Night with a panel of Admissions Representatives, College Fairs, College Planning and Financial Aid Workshops, Naviance Workshops and more.
