Something I love about art is how you can take something so simple, make it complex and turn it into anything you want.
How do the parallels of life reflect within people, society, and nature? My goal was to choose subject matter that is often overlooked and force the viewer to gaze harder at it, in order to examine the connections in everyday life. I experimented with this idea by using visual elements, such as colors and patterns to link together images with Adobe Photoshop. I am interested in this idea because it’s mesmerizing to see the mystery in abstraction and what goes unnoticed by the viewer. In 13, I researched precognition and began experimenting with how I could make it obvious to others this is no ordinary eye and how the girl photographed is actually foreseeing the future. In 11, experimentation was prevalent when obscuring the main subject and hiding it within a frame of another subject. Although the auditorium is the focus of the image, I was able to place it in the back to make the viewer's eye gravitate towards it, through the spiral. Revision was a big part of my experimentation process throughout my pieces. In 14, I took original images and layered them, to directly compare different moods one has and adapt the once simple portraits.
