I love when I am able to use my artwork to express a certain feeling in which I simply couldn't describe into words.
What if our stream of consciousness is visible in our mark making? This is what I usually ask myself in order to give off a better stance on how I feel about my artwork. Having this mindset is not only very important to me, but it also helps me to be more unique and expressive at what I try to make. I generally use a Pilot G2 07 Black Gel Pen for sketches and a Wacom Intuos Pro Tablet for finalized pieces using software such as TVPaint and Photoshop. Researching other artists out there such as Robert Ryman and Bryan Charnley have helped me to lay out a foundation for what kind of motive I wanted to give myself when making art and show how far I can go with it, both in terms of abstraction and minimalism. I often experiment by merging my drawings detailing the use of constant conjunctions of several drawings together over the course of several days that give off a minimalistic yet vastly immersive feel to them. Recently I’ve begun revising my work to incorporate color while also reshaping and deforming my previous works into something far more expressive and potent than I would have ever thought possible.
