Before we move further into ECHO training, it is important to have a better understanding of School-Wide Learning Outcomes.
Based on research, the school-wide learning outcomes (SWLO's) are "aimed at preparing students for post-secondary college and career success" (New Tech Network, 2016). Instruction, student activities, and assessments are aligned both to state standards and SWLO's. This means that student growth and success is measured by their application of content knowledge and college-and-career ready skills in their work.
For the entire school, a percentage of each student's grade is made up of a percentage from each SWLO. Smaller activities may cover only one or two outcome, while larger activities or projects may cover four or five outcomes.
Click on the left to access the Thinglink image within a new tab. Explore the five School-Wide Learning Outcome definitions and scoring rubrics. When you are finished, close the tab to return to this course. This information will be required to create your collaborative product.
Learners were assigned to teams for this group activity based on the content you teach. As a group, you will develop a digital poster that explains the School-Wide Learning Outcomes to your students. The guidelines are as follows:
Share Your Completed Poster on this Padlet.
Make sure to "gallery walk" the other teams' work as well!
