Most students will use the General Education board for their activities. Additional boards have been provided for students with IEPs (Special Education) or have English Language Learning Plans (ESOL.) Additionally, the boards have been translated into four languages--Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Portuguese and Spanish. If you have any question as to which board your student should complete, contact your student's teacher or case manager.
The boards were created to give students choice and parents the ability to provide grade-level appropriate activities while we experience a period of Continuous Learning, away from the physical classroom. Set a goal to complete one activity per column each day. There are activities that involve using the internet and choices that do not. It is your choice which to complete. Your student's teacher will check in during these two weeks, but there is nothing to turn in for a grade. Your student can, of course, do more than one activity, but only if that works for you! It is completely ok if your day doesn't allow for the completion of the boards. Just do your best and have a little fun!
Please note that the globe icon (🌏) indicates that the activity is a good choice for an English language learner. Additionally, some days have extra support documents for English language learners.
Your student is used to using online texts from our "Gale" library. Many of the choices on the boards use this district resource. Click here to view a short video on how these work. Students are used to using these and might be able to do this independently or with little assistance. The password is "valley".
