“It was a beautiful, beautiful day, and we were, like, laying in deck chairs. It's very nice. I was looking forward to watching the Chiefs win yet another Super Bowl, and then I felt it. It felt like it was raining; And then I looked, and there was black spots left where the rain was hitting me. And realized it wasn't rain. It was some kind of horrible black sludge.“ 

This quote was taken from the two eyewitnesses of “The Black Sludge Incident”, a very unfortunate event that took place on a Carolina cruise. These eye-witnesses are Bobby Brown and Rachel Potucek, who are the sole people who got hit with the sludge. “It's a form of exhaust for the engines of the ship that they just project. They, like, spray out behind the boat. But if the wind catches it, it can blow it back the other direction, and it'll land on you.“ This is exactly what happened on this trip, and both persons in this interview have not gotten compensation besides the cruise ship paying for a single dry cleaning, which did not work anyway. 

what happened after the sludge fell was interesting. “I Lost my mind. Absolutely went bananas. We Found staff on the boat to yell at, which was unproductive. I threatened the cruise director, Also unproductive. They they don't actually do anything. They're just a guy on a microphone. We, yeah, tried to change clothes, take showers.” 

This ruined the entire cruise after that point, and one more statement was said in the interview. “Getting covered in black sludge will make you angry enough to fight God”. it seems true, from what iv’e heard.
