This petition seeks to draw attention to the necessity of such a break, which would greatly benefit their mental and physical well-being. Everyone deserves a chance to step outside and enjoy fresh air, no matter the weather. The 15-minute break would also co-occur on Thursdays for all grade levels, creating a unique opportunity for students of all ages to socialize and connect with each other.
To make up for the 15 minutes we subtracted, we should subtract 2 minutes from each of our classes except lunch and subtract 3 minutes instead of 2 from flex, but with a 15-minute mid-day break. Students will feel more refreshed and focused throughout the day. This simple change to the school day can significantly impact our students' health and happiness.
By signing this petition, you'll show your support for the well-being of our students and help create a healthier and more connected school community. A name and signature are required to make your support count. Let's prioritize the well-being of our students.
The Child Mind Institute states information on the topic. Many researchers agree that kids who play outside are happier, better at paying attention, and less anxious than kids who spend more time indoors. Spending time in nature can build their confidence.
