Nestled along the shores of Lake Dillon, this site offers fantastic views of the Ten Mile Range, Buffalo Mountain, and beautiful Colorado sunsets.
What we love about this site:
Panoramic mountain views.
It has a stunning backdrop of Lake Dillon and is gorgeous at sunset.
No fee.
Relatively easy to access for most. There is a dirt trail that leads to the site.
Potential drawbacks of this site
It's non-reservable, so you have to take what you get when you arrive. It may be in use.
Trail to site can be sloped in places.
Snowshoes may be required in winter--particularly if you want to walk the site a bit for a variety of photo backdrops.
It does require a 7-10 minute walk through the woods to access.
Accessibility
Parking: the site has its own parking lot that can accommodate whatever number of cars needed for your guests

For weddings held between September 1st and May 31st, note that Colorado has strict traction laws in place that affect what type of vehicle you are allowed to drive in the mountains. If you are planning a Colorado mountain wedding between these dates, please thoroughly read this blog post so you'll be driving the right type of vehicle. (Don't rely on the car rental companies to fill you in on this; our experience is that they don't.)
