Colorado Springs Site 020307acme
Getting married at the top of this site is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The views are fabulous, and you can see for miles, but there is also the train ride up and down which makes for a half-day adventure that you'll remember forever.
You may access the summit either by the cog railway (our recommended method) or you can drive. Even if you opt to drive, note that our vendors take the train to and from the summit. (Driving is just way too hard on their vehicles!). If you do want to drive up to the top, read this first. You can also hike to the top of Pikes Peak via the Barr Trail. Yeah...we'll meet you at the top, though!
No permit is needed to get married here, but our packages will reflect additional time and fees for photographers and officiants.
The train stops at the summit for 35-40 minutes. This is enough time for you to have your ceremony and get some photos taken. Additional photos will be taken on the train and at the base (at the railway station).
The railway policy is that you must ride down on the same train that you rode up on. If you want extra time at the summit, they require that you purchase a separate set of round-trip tickets. It will also add another 90 minutes to your adventure! If this is what you want to do, then our package will reflect the extra time and second set of tickets.
What we love about this site:
Beautiful local scenery from atop the mountain.
Wide, sweeping vistas of the mountains are incredible.
Potential drawbacks of this site
Very popular tourist attraction.
Getting married at this site will incur substantial additional fees for vendor train tickets as well as the time involved for ceremony vendors to undertake the 4-hour round-trip train ride.
Accessibility
Parking: A fair amount, but this is a very popular tourist destination, so their lot can fill up quickly. Best to allow for extra walking time as you may have to park along the street and walk to the railway station. We also strongly encourage carpooling.
Accessibility: plenty of paved pathways. There are some dirt paths as well.
