Laid back. Relaxed. Peaceful. All good ways to describe this site. Located outside of Woodland Park, this lakeside site has a lot of what our couples are looking for in Colorado.
There's a dock for your vows, a boardwalk for photos, some red sandstone monoliths for a dash of something different, and of course mountains all around to give your wedding the Colorado feel you want. In the event of rain or other inclimate weather, there's also a pavilion for rent that can accommodate up to 50 people.
What we love about this site:
Beautiful local scenery all around with a multitude of different backdrops.
Short drive (~10 minutes) from Woodland Park, or a little bit longer (~30-35 minutes) from Colorado Springs.
An all around easygoing feel to the site.
Potential drawbacks of this site
Can get busy in the summer, especially with people who want to fish.
There are no other places to reserve besides the pavilion, so availability cannot be guaranteed.
Accessibility
Parking: ample.
Vehicle type: for winter, make sure your vehicle has good ground clearance to get over snow, as well as 4-wheel drive for potential ice. For weddings held between September 1st and May 31st, note that Colorado has strict traction laws in place that affect what type of vehicle you are allowed to drive in the mountains. If you are planning a Colorado mountain wedding between these dates, please thoroughly read this blog post so you'll be driving the right type of vehicle. (Don't rely on the car rental companies to fill you in on this; our experience is that they don't.)
Accessibility: plenty of paved pathways around the park. There are some dirt paths as well as a boardwalk too.
Additional Logistics
Dogs/Pets: yes, but must be leashed at all times.

Blue Sky Elopements and Client's assigned wedding professionals are not responsible for issues related to unforeseen closures/restrictions/inaccessibility of unbooked (i.e. Clients do not pay to reserve their location) venues. If Client chooses to be married at a public venue that is not reserved in advance, then it is Client's responsibility to ensure the venue is accessible on the wedding day. Note: additional fees will be applied if Blue Sky Elopements needs to reschedule vendors due to a change in venue.
However, the pavilion on site can be rented/reserved for $50.00. No other sites at this park fall into this category, so availability cannot be guaranteed. There is also a $7.00 per car fee to enter the park.
