So you say you want to get married by the water, with mountain views, and surrounded by trees, but you still want your extended family (including your grandparents) to be there. This site just might be what you're looking for!
This park offers a great blend of the aforementioned natural features, but in a location that's easy to get to, and is also very accessible for everyone. Although there are some dirt paths here and there, most of the park can be accessed via paved pathways.
What we love about this site:
Accessibility. This is a county park and they have done a fantastic job making sure everyone can use it.
The setting. Being able to use a gazebo resting just above, and out on the water? How cool is that!
Affordability. It's not often you can rent a site with the capabilities this one offers starting at less than $300.
Potential drawbacks of this site
It is a public park, so people would have access to other parts, and may be milling about a bit.
Accessibility
Parking: ample, but we still recommend carpooling.
Vehicle type: for winter, make sure your vehicle has good ground clearance to get over snow, as well as 4-wheel drive for potential ice. For weddings held between September 1st and May 31st, note that Colorado has strict traction laws in place that affect what type of vehicle you are allowed to drive in the mountains. If you are planning a Colorado mountain wedding between these dates, please thoroughly read this blog post so you'll be driving the right type of vehicle. (Don't rely on the car rental companies to fill you in on this; our experience is that they don't.)
