Colorado Springs Site 020301phenomenal

For those that wish to have nature's handiwork on display, this site has some great examples of it. Massive sandstone monoliths dot the area of this popular Colorado destination and offers some fantastic spots to have your ceremony.

The best part about it though, it that there is no permit fee to get married in this park! Bear in mind though, they operate on a "first come, first served" basis. You'll also want to remember that this is a very popular destination in Colorado, so there's a good chance your ceremony won't have a lot of privacy. (However, we do have a spot or two tucked away that very few people know about.)

What we love about this site:

  • Truly unique background. It has Colorado's signature red rocks as well as spectacular mountain views.

  • Location: close to the heart of Colorado Springs.

  • No fee.

Potential drawbacks of this site

  • The park is an incredibly popular place, especially in the summer. Don't count on seclusion.

Accessibility

Parking: 300+ spots, but it's a very busy park.

Vehicle type: for winter, make sure your vehicle has good ground clearance to get over snow, as well as 4-wheel drive for potential ice. For weddings held between September 1st and May 31st, note that Colorado has strict traction laws in place that affect what type of vehicle you are allowed to drive in the mountains. If you are planning a Colorado mountain wedding between these dates, please thoroughly read this blog post so you'll be driving the right type of vehicle. (Don't rely on the car rental companies to fill you in on this; our experience is that they don't.)

Accessibility: plenty of paved pathways around the park.
