A popular location for larger weddings between May and October, this site offers stunning views of Boulder and the eastern plains. The amphitheater is a rustic outdoor facility made from local stone. It features a large circular area, a small stage, seating for 150, and magnificent views. However, you don't need 150 guests to take advantage of the spectacular views!
With rental fees ranging from $150 to $400, it's still a very affordable venue for a small wedding.
The road to access this site is steep but well-paved. Be on the lookout for road bikers as you drive the switchbacks--there is no bike line and this is a very popular riding road for them. The road is closed from mid-October through May 1st.

It can be a very busy park. A weekday booking is your best bet.
Accessibility
Parking: ample.
Vehicle type: for winter, make sure your vehicle has good ground clearance to get over snow, as well as 4-wheel drive for potential ice. For weddings held between September 1st and May 31st, note that Colorado has strict traction laws in place that affect what type of vehicle you are allowed to drive in the mountains. If you are planning a Colorado mountain wedding between these dates, please thoroughly read this blog post so you'll be driving the right type of vehicle. (Don't rely on the car rental companies to fill you in on this; our experience is that they don't.)
Access from parking: paved road/path to get to site. Staircase goes from parking area to site.

Technically, the City of Boulder would probably not bother you if you chose to have a 2-person wedding here without a permit. But, at certain times, it can be very crowded. It's advisable to get a permit if you want some privacy. Alternatively, there are areas close to the amphitheater (that don't require a permit) where a 2-person wedding could be held.
