Tucked away in the Seacliff neighborhood, this site is a smaller beach with a stunning Golden Gate Bridge backdrop. The bridge is about a half mile further away here than it is from 010702waves, but, because this site juts out into the Pacific further than 010702waves, the bridge is still very visible.
About thirty-five cars may park at the parking lot. Note: there is on-street parking not too far away. There are 105 steps to get down the beach. Or, you may choose to access the beach via a concrete pedestrian and bicycle-only lane that winds among the flowers, under the trees to the beach.
Like neighboring 010702waves, this site is managed by the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA). GGNRA sites (including this one) typically require a permit. However, it's been our experience that informal weddings with 10 or fewer guests can have a wedding here and will not be bothered. The responsibility to obtain a permit, however, is the couple's. No permits issued for weekends and holidays from March 15 - October 15.
What we love about this site:
The Golden Gate Bridge makes for an incredible backdrop.
More relaxed beach setting than 010702waves.
Toes in the sand just a few minutes away from an awesome city!
Potential drawbacks of this site
The beach is a popular spot.
Dogs and pets are NOT allowed here.
