This site is located in a small town about 10 miles north of Santa Cruz. The beach here is quite picturesque and offers a unique backdrop. Note: if you search for this beach online, you'll see a ton of reviews (on Yelp mostly) that talk about the beach being dangerous, hard to access, scrambling down cliffs, etc. That is NOT the beach we're talking about--that is another site south of this one.
This beach is family and dog-friendly (see the video) and easily accessible. There are a few picnic tables up at the top of the beach as well as swings for the kids.
What we love about this site:

Potential drawbacks of this site
Parking can be problematic.
Since this site doesn't require a permit, we cannot guarantee exclusivity, so you'll have to take what you get if it's crowded.
Accessibility
Parking: parking can be difficult, especially during the summer months. There's free on-street parking on the access road to the beach, and enough to meet the needs for up to 15 guests, but we still strongly recommend carpooling.
Access from parking: depending on where you park, it could be anywhere from a 2-10-minute walk on pavement before reaching the beach.

Suitable for children: yes, but make sure someone is holding their hands when near the water.
Max vehicles accommodated: enough to accommodate up to 15 guests, but we still strongly recommend carpooling.

This site is not reservable--it is open and free to the public. Please note these terms from our contract for nonreservable sites:
Blue Sky Elopements and Client's assigned wedding professionals are not responsible for issues related to unforeseen closures/restrictions/inaccessibility of unbooked (i.e. Clients do not pay to reserve their location) venues. If Client chooses to be married at a public venue that is not reserved in advance, then it is Client's responsibility to ensure the venue is accessible on the wedding day. Note: additional fees will be applied if Blue Sky Elopements needs to reschedule vendors due to a change in venue.
