One of our favorite beach sites in the Carmel/Monterey area, it's located in a cove so it tends to be out of the wind. The site offers stunning ocean views, rocky outcroppings, easy access (down a flight of stairs) and in late spring/early summer, the hills behind the beach are covered in ice plant, which blooms in pinks, purples and yellows.

It's also conveniently located close to the lodging, shops and restaurants of Carmel-by-the Sea--an enchanting town that is perfect as a honeymoon as well as a vacation spot for your guests.

What we love about this site:

This beach is more sheltered from the wind than others in the area.
Sand, trees, rocky backdrops as well as a grand staircase if you want to "make an entrance."
Beautiful ice plant in pinks, purples and yellows abound in early to mid-summer.
Permits are offered that ensure there will be no other events going on at the date and time of your wedding.
On weekdays, this site is usually quite private.

Potential drawbacks of this site

Parking can be limited in summer.
It does require a paid permit. See fees below.

Accessibility

Parking: is on the side of the road and is very restricted. A shuttle is required if you have more than four cars total (and two of those will be taken up by the officiant and the photographer).

Access from parking: Accessible for most. Site requires walking down a staircase and over beach sand.

Additional Logistics

Dogs: leashed dogs are allowed on the beach.

Bathrooms: none.

Suitable for children: yes.

Max vehicles accommodated: up to two (2) cars in addition to those of your ceremony vendors.

Max number of guests at this site: 30. However, parking is limited at this site so a shuttle is required if there are more than four cars in total.

Dates of Availability: year-round.

Permits and Fees

This site is managed by the state of California and a permit for weddings of any size is required. We will add the permit cost to your package with Blue Sky Elopements and obtain the permit for you.

Up to 6 guests - $175

7-21 guests - $450

22-30 guests - $550

Weddings of any size with chairs and/or an arch - $750

A permit does not grant exclusive use of the site--but it does guarantee that there will only be one wedding booked at a time. It does not guarantee that there will be parking available.

(Reminder: we do not book weddings with more than 30 guests.)

Holidays incur additional fees for permits. We strongly discourage use of this site for holiday events as it will inevitably be crowded and not offer you the private experience you're seeking.
