Big Sur area site - 010102hike

This site is a spectacular Big Sur coast location--although all of the pretty wedding venue sites (i.e., the ones overlooking the ocean) require a hike of about 25-30 minutes. If you're up for that long of an easy walk, it's a great place to escape the crowds. And you get the quintessential Big Sur vibe--crashing waves, indescribable views of the ocean and the mountains are behind you.


We're happy to hike this with you but remember that our elopement package fees for this location will reflect the extra time spent by our wedding professionals. The walk may be well worth it, however. The further out we go, the less people there are about!


Please note: During the off season, seasonal footbridges will not be in place. You and your party may need to do a river crossing to access some areas of the park at your own risk.

Accessibility


Parking: 50-60 spaces. We strongly recommend carpooling.


Access from parking: The trail to the site is about a half-hour's hike from parking and goes over several hilly areas as well as steps. May be difficult to access for those with mobility issues.

Bathrooms: yes.


Suitable for children: yes, but make sure someone is holding their hands near the overlook.


Max vehicles accommodated: 50-60 cars. We strongly recommend carpooling.

Reservations and Fees


  • Weddings here do require a permit and the number of guests is limited to 10 people TOTAL (including the couple, officiant, photographer, etc.--and yes, children count toward the total). The cost is $350 if wedding is booked more than 30 days prior to the wedding date. Add an additional $125 for a rush fee if you can't meet this deadline. We will roll the permit fee into our package with us and apply for the permit on your behalf. We will also supply the required State of California Liability Insurance mandated for weddings here. This will be supplied at no additional cost to you.

  • There is a $10 per car parking fee for this site. Parking fees for ceremony vendors will be added to your package fee.
