Many people who don't know the area think that they can easily walk down to the beach and be married in front of these falls. THIS IS NOT THE CASE! This site is a tourist attraction and there is a specified path above the falls that must be stayed on. It's a dramatic and beautiful overlook area in which to be wed, but it's NOT a toes-in-the sand beach.
It's less than a 10-minute walk from the parking lot (under the highway through a pedestrian tunnel) to access the overlook. The path is handicapped accessible.
Another feature of this site is that it offers opportunities for photos with both ocean and redwood backdrops. This means that you can have a variety of backgrounds without having to add on extra photography time.
No dogs allowed at this site and a permit does not guarantee exclusivity. Note: this is a very populated site; there will be tourists milling about.
Due to the high volume of visitors to this site and the extreme shortage of parking, we only offer ceremonies here in the off season (November through March). Weekdays only.
