In accordance with Governor Ducey’s most recent executive order, beginning August 17, Hope High School will be offering onsite learning support for families in need. Space will be limited based on staffing and health guidelines regarding social distancing. Priority will be given to children who receive Special Education or English Language services, children of First Responders, children who have a 504 Plan, and children who qualify for Free & Reduced Lunch. For details and scheduling, please contact the school at 623-772-8013.
Hello Hope Students and Families,
We’re contacting you regarding Governor Ducey’s Executive Order announced last week.
Hope High School IS currently OPEN for IN-PERSON instruction. If you would like to join other students who have chosen the in-person option you are welcome when we return from spring break on March 15. While we feel that in-person instruction is the best option, we still will offer the option to learn from home for those families that feel safer that way.
We will continue all COVID precautions including physical distancing. If you plan to resume in-person instruction, please notify us of that preference so we can plan accordingly. Log into your students’ “bling” page (https://bit.ly/hhsbling-survey) to select your preference of learning In-Person or At-Home.
If you haven’t already, please view our latest Virtual Town Hall available on our website (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsJVZpM6qBA).
If you have any questions, we invite you to give the school a call and leave a message or send us an email. We will respond as soon as we are able.
Thank you,
Mrs. O’Connell, Principal

Hola, Hope, estudiantes y familias,
Gracias,
Sra. O'Connell, directora

Dear Hope Students and Families:
Yesterday, Governor Ducey held a press conference announcing an executive order to address the growing number of COVID-19 cases in Arizona. As part of his executive order, the governor announced delaying the first day of school for in-person learning until August 17 statewide. He advised that schools may begin the school year on their regularly planned start date prior to August 17 through distance learning.
Like you, we have many questions related to this order and how it impacts our plans for reopening and learning options. We will continue to prepare for the upcoming school year and keep you updated. Please rest assured that school WILL be in session at Hope High School, although we may have to be flexible about what the start of the school year will look like.
In the meantime, if you have not done so already, please complete the Returning Student Survey on our website hopehighschool.org to choose your own personalized schedule option. We hope to have many learning options to meet all students’ needs. By completing the survey you will reserve your spot and your preferred schedule. If you have any questions, or you would like to reserve your spot and complete the survey with Ms. Zoe, please give us a call at 623-772-8013.
Thank you Hope families for your continued flexibility and support as we go through this unprecedented time together! We will keep you informed about the first day of school and any updates from the Governor’s Office or the Department of Education as soon as that information becomes available.
Gratefully,
Marina O’Connell, Principal
Marina O’Connell, Directora
Good Morning Diamonds and Families,
It is with a heavy but hopeful heart that I am reporting the most recent update from the Governor’s Office. Just yesterday morning, Governor Ducey and Superintendent Hoffman announced the extension of school closures through the end of the school year. While this means that, sadly, students cannot come back to our physical campus for the remainder of the school year, classes and learning will still be happening online! Students will be completing coursework to earn credits through our online options. If your student is in a direct instruction class, teachers will be reaching out by email with instructions for completion of that course. Online courses in Edgenuity and Aleks will continue; please contact teachers for assistance with assignments and tests. We are all learning about new technologies to help us be more connected with you, so stay tuned for updates and invitations, but for now, please check out our Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat posts (We are the hhsdiamonds.) .
Most importantly for right now, if you are experiencing a technology challenge with the internet or a computer, or any other setback, please let us know by contacting the school as soon as possible at 623-772-8013, so we can help your student get back to work. Again, please call our school at 623-772-8013, and leave a message with your contact information so we can return your call promptly. As always, contact information, classes, updates, and resources can be found at hopehighschool.org and select “Students.” Thank you and be well.

Hello Hope Families!
This is Mrs. O'Connell, Principal of Hope High School, reaching out again with an update on school closures:
Our school will remain closed through April 10th, at least, per Governor Ducey's order. On a positive note, at this time state testing, including AZM2, has been cancelled for the remainder of the school year. For continued updates on when our school will reopen, please go to hopehighschool.org.
While our campus may be closed for everyone’s safety, we are continuing instruction and learning online! Students can access the student portal and their online classes from home by going to hopehighschool.org and clicking on: “Students.” There, students can find their online classes and links to their teachers’ google classrooms. You can also look up phone extensions and emails for all staff and teachers and links to community resources on the student portal, again by going to hopehighschool.org and clicking on: “Students.” Please allow 24 hours for a response from a teacher.
Finally, please expect a call from a Hope High School teacher or staff member this week! If you don’t hear from us, or if you need anything at all, we are here to support you. Please call us at 623-772-8013.
We miss our students and families! Please stay safe and be well!
Gratefully,
Mrs. O'Connell

Dear Hope Families:
We want to thank you for your patience as we collectively navigate through this national emergency. We understand the hardship that state-mandated school closures will create for our families and want to stress that we are diligently working to best meet the needs of our students, families, staff, and community.
First, please be aware that teachers, academic advisors, and administrative staff at Hope High School will be reaching out to our students and families next week to touch-base, make sure students feel supported in continuing to work on courses, provide information and resources when possible, and answer questions about concerns you may have. We will also be posting regularly on Snapchat and Facebook (we are hhsdiamonds on both), so please stay connected with us.
Second, please know that there are community resources available to students and families under these challenging conditions.
Most district schools in the area will begin providing meals to any child 18 years of age or younger, regardless of application status or school enrollment. Per USDA regulations, all children must be present at the time when picking up meals. Please reach out to your local school for information on when meals will be available.
If you know of a Senior Citizen unable to access groceries, please call the Arizona Area Agency on Aging as they can provide assistance. The number is 602-264-4357.
The United Way has a COVID-19 Community Economic Relief Fund. They will help with bills, rent, and food. You can call 1-866-211-9966 and provide your zip code and you will be given a list of local agencies to provide assistance.
If there is anything else we can help you with or any questions we can answer, please email me at marinao@blueprinteducation.org, or feel free to call Hope High School’s main number, 623-772-8013 and leave a message. Mr. Buehnerkemper or I will call you back as soon as possible.
Additional resources will be posted on our HHS Student Portal, which you can access at hopehighschool.org and click on “Students.”
This remains a quickly evolving situation and we continue to work diligently to ensure the safety and wellness of our Hope High School community.
Like you, we have many questions surrounding AzM2/AzMERIT and other state-mandated academic testing, Cali trip, graduation, and continuing instruction, just to name a few.
We are continuing to receive information from the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) regarding testing and whether instructional days will need to be made up, depending on the number of closure days. We will share additional information and answers as soon as we receive it.
We will provide another update no later than Wednesday, March 25, 2020.
Blueprint Education and the Hope High School family appreciate your support as we continue to focus on the needs of our students, families, employees, and community in these challenging times.
Love,
Mrs. O’Connell
Good afternoon, Hope families!
We have just been informed that Governor Doug Ducey and Superintendent Kathy Hoffman today announced a statewide closure of Arizona schools from Monday, March 16, 2020 through Friday, March 27, 2020. Governor Ducey and Superintendent Hoffman will work with education officials and public health officials to reassess the need for the school closures and provide further guidance through March 27, 2020. Furthermore, our district, Blueprint Education, is developing guidance for our schools, to ensure the continuity of education and important student services during this extended leave, where possible. We will keep you informed as soon as any further information becomes available. We at Hope High School wish you and your families health and comfort these next two weeks, and we will remain in contact, supporting our students in any way we can.

Dear Hope High School Parents and Guardians,
At Hope High School we take the well being of our students and their families very seriously. The COVID-19 (Coronavirus) is certainly a situation that we are aware of and are monitoring.
We are working with district facilities personnel to ensure that the facilities are being maintained in the best way possible to support good health practices.
Our staff will take additional precautions by wiping down frequently touched surfaces and providing hand sanitizer throughout the building.
We are currently following recommendations from the Maricopa County Department of Public Health. Important information can be found at maricopa.gov/coronavirus and you can reach the public information hotline at 602-747-7099. There is a plethora of information on COVID-19 (Coronavirus) that can be found at cdc.gov/coronavirus.
Hope High School asks that everyone follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) recommendations for prevention of illness.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick
Stay home when you are sick
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing
Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs; use alcohol-based hand sanitizer when you are not able to wash hands.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth
Practice other good health habits
Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces
Get plenty of sleep
Be physically active
Manage your stress
Plenty of fluids
Eat nutritious food
Please, if you, a family member, or your child are sick, do not attend school. Parents/Children who have symptoms of illness are recommended to stay home until they are free of fever (100.4° F or greater using an oral thermometer), signs of a fever, and any other symptoms for at least 72 hours, without the use of fever-reducing or other symptom-altering medicines (e.g. cough suppressants).
For those of you who are planning to travel with Hope High School for the California Disneyland Trip at the end of April, please know that currently we are monitoring the CDC travel recommendations and Disneyland closures. At this time, the trip will continue as planned. We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate with families if changes arise.
Thank you for your understanding,
Marina O’Connell, Principal
'Disneyland closed through March 31st as of March 12, 2020'
For those of you who are planning to travel with Hope High School for the California Disneyland Trip at the end of April, please know that currently we are monitoring the CDC travel recommendations and Disneyland closures.
Despite the Walt Disney Company's decision to close Disneyland for the remainder of March as a precaution, at this time, the trip will continue as planned. We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate with families if changes arise.
We currently plan to provide all students with hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes for general cleanliness.
In the event that we are forced to reschedule or cancel our trip, all students will receive either a refund of the trip payment or credit towards a future trip.
If you have any further questions, please contact your school's Cali Trip Coordinator:
