EXPANDO is a Chrome extension that provides text expansion and locally stored productivity tools.
EXPANDO allows users to create and store text snippets, notes, todos, preferences, and theme settings. This information is stored locally on the user’s device using Chrome extension storage.
The text-expansion feature examines text immediately before the cursor inside an active editable field to identify user-created shortcuts. This processing occurs locally on the device.
EXPANDO does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal information or user content.
EXPANDO does not use analytics, advertising trackers, remote databases, or user accounts.
EXPANDO writes to the clipboard only when the user explicitly clicks a Copy button for generated passwords or transformed text. EXPANDO does not read clipboard contents.
Passwords are generated locally using the browser’s secure random-number generator. Generated passwords are not stored or transmitted unless the user chooses to save them elsewhere.
EXPANDO requires access to webpages so text shortcuts can work inside editable fields, including supported rich-text editors. Website content is not transmitted or stored by EXPANDO.
Snippets, notes, todos, theme preferences, and settings remain in Chrome’s local extension storage. Users can remove this information by clearing the extension’s data or uninstalling EXPANDO.
EXPANDO contains an optional Buy Me a Coffee link. Opening this link takes the user to an external website governed by that website’s own privacy policy. EXPANDO does not automatically transmit extension data through this link.
