Mr. Schmidt's Music Classes

About Me- I began working for the Bloomfield School District in 2004. I started my first year at BHS and now have been teaching at the middle school for the past 16 years.

I received a B.M. in Music Education with a concentration in voice at Nyack College in Nyack, NY. I also hold a M.A. in Educational Administration from Caldwell University in Caldwell, NJ.

Here at BMS, I am the director of four choirs and I also teach a Guitar and Piano course. These are performance based elective courses where students discover many aspects of music and the learning/preparation involved to achieve a quality performance. I thoroughly enjoy teaching these classes and love that my students have the opportunity to further themselves in the arts.

Outside of BMS I teach voice and piano lessons privately and I perform throughout the area. When I am not teaching, I spend time with my family and friends. I am an avid Yankees and Giants fan and you can always find me in the city seeing Broadway shows, operas, concerts, or any other type of performance to expand my culture and knowledge in music.
