Hi, I'm Miss McGeady!

I have been a teacher for 9 years, 8 of those years being on the West Coast. I was born in Greymouth but spent my primary school years in Nelson. I moved back to Greymouth and attended intermediate (year 7 and 8) and high school. Growing up, I wanted to be a midwife or a teacher. During high school I studied Early Childhood Education in my spare time. This confirmed my love for teaching! I headed off to Dunedin where I studied at The University of Otago College of Education. Three years later I gained my first teaching job in the beautiful Kaikōura. I completed my first year of teaching and jumped at the opportunity when a job popped up in Hokitika. I was so excited to be back on the West Coast closer to my family. After teaching for two years in Hokitika, I landed an amazing job working with an awesome bunch of children and staff. I absolutely love this school and I am very excited for my children to attend Blaketown School as well.

I have a 4.5 year old named Ollie and a nearly 2 year old named Zoey. They're a handful but full of laughter and smiles! They love popping into school and seeing everyone.

I enjoy spending my spare time with friends and family, cooking and baking, gardening and creating resources and activities for my children at school.

If you would like to have a meeting or see our colourful classroom, please get in touch. I would love to hear from you. Remember if you do pop in, you need to sign in on the iPad in the office for health and safety reasons.
