Hi, I'm Miss McGeady!

I have been a teacher for 10 years, 9 of those years being on the West Coast. I was born in Greymouth but spent my primary school years in Nelson. I moved back to Greymouth and attended intermediate (year 7 and 8) and high school. Growing up, I wanted to be a midwife or a teacher. During high school I studied Early Childhood Education in my spare time. This confirmed my love for teaching! I headed off to Dunedin where I studied at The University of Otago College of Education. Three years later I gained my first teaching job in the beautiful Kaikōura. I completed my first year of teaching and jumped at the opportunity when a job popped up in Hokitika. I was so excited to be back on the West Coast closer to my family. After teaching for two years in Hokitika, I landed an amazing job working with an awesome bunch of children and staff, I absolutely love this school.

I have a nearly 6 year old named Ollie who is attending Blaketown School, he is lucky enough to be in Miss Bamford's class. I also have a 3 year old named Zoey who loves to come in and play with you all. They're a handful but full of laughter and smiles!

I enjoy spending my spare time with friends and family, cooking and baking, gardening and creating resources and activities for my children at school.

If you would like to have a meeting or see our colourful classroom, please get in touch. I would love to hear from you. Remember if you do pop in, you need to sign in on the iPad in the office for health and safety reasons.
