School Counseling

Hi! My name is Caitlyn Colter, and this will be my first year as a school counselor. I am so excited to begin here at Blair, and I look forward to getting to know this community and partner with you all towards success. I am here to support all students' academic, career, and social development. 

I will be at Otte Middle on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays weekly; I will be at Arbor Park on Mondays and Fridays weekly.

Outside of school, I love walking, being outdoors, being creative, trying new coffee shops, thrifting, and being with my friends and family.

As a school counselor, I work with all students to develop their academic, career, and social/emotional skills. I collaborate closely with families, teachers, administrators, and community members to benefit students academics and overall well-being. My goal is to be a safe, supportive, and accessible resource for every student while partnering with families to help each child thrive. 

I prioritize building trust with students and maintain confidentiality, except in situations where disclosure is necessary to prevent serious and foreseeable harm, in accordance with ASCA guidelines.

Education

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Human Services in 2023 and my Master of Science in Education: School Counseling in 2026 both from Northwest Missouri State University.

I spent a year in Pre-K as a Teacher Aide before beginning graduate school. I recently completed my practicum internship hours at Maryville Middle and Eugene Field Elementary in Maryville, MO.
