Without a doubt, 'yes' and 'no' are some of the most likely answers to a wide range of questions in the English language. As for Welsh, it gets a lot more complicated than learning two little words. Not only does it depend on the tense of the question (Past, Present, Future etc), but it can also depend on who we are answering the question on behalf of.
The Present Tense will always be key to questions that you will be asked, as well as those you will ask others in your Uned 1 and Uned 2 exams. Make sure that you revise these well before entering any exams!
The Past Tense may well be the most difficult tense to learn in Welsh, but the 'yes' and 'no' answers are the easiest of them all. It doesn't matter which type verbs you use - Regular verbs (the grid pictured) or the Irregular verbs ('mynd', 'dod', 'cael' and 'gwneud') - every 'yes' and 'no' answer remains the same. It also helps that it is the only tense that doesn't change depending on who you are talking about.
Very few questions will appear in the form of the Imperfect Tense, but it's better to be safe than sorry. These will change depending on who you are talking about, so below are the most likely 'yes' and 'no' answers that you will need.
Blooket - The Past Tense and the Imperfect Tense 'Yes' and 'No'
The Future Tense is another tense that you may not need to use often, but you should at least known the answers 'Bydda' and 'Na fydda' (for the question 'Fyddi di'n ...?') and 'Bydd' and 'Na fydd' (for the questions 'Fydd e'n? / Fydd hi'n?' and 'Fydd John/Jane yn ...?')
The Conditional Tenses may be the least commonly used tenses out of this list, but for anyone aiming for the top grades in Uned 1 and Uned 2, you should be using some of these questions in your exams. For that reason, it will make sense for you and your partner/group to make sure that you know their 'yes' and 'no' answers as well.
