What is this?

6 Advance provides a range of exciting opportunities for students to further explore their curriculum interests or experience an entirely new area. Involvement in one of the 6 Advance academies will provide you with a fantastic way to build up your skills and experience portfolio in preparation for university and apprenticeship applications. This is a great way to make your future applications really stand out from the crowd!

Whilst Excellence Programme students are expected to join one of the academies, all students are eligible for 6 Advance.

Our activities are designed to help develop the sort of skills that compliment your academic success and offer experiences that go beyond those you'll have in your subject area.

We have groups specifically designed to support you in particular field of study or career areas as well as groups which will offer a more broad experience

6 Advance is designed to support you with your ambitions and sit alongside the hard work you do in your studies, helping you take things that little bit further that can make all the difference!

What do I gain?

Different activities offer different skills but a selection of outcomes include
