Writer
Cooper Kenney is currently a junior at Century High School, and this is his second year as a Century Star writer. “I joined the Star as a way to strengthen my writing and to experience what journalism has to offer,” Kenney said. In his time with the Star, Kenney has enjoyed exploring a wide variety of journalistic styles ranging from satirical stories, similar to articles by The Onion, to more serious, straightforward, fact-stating journalism.
Outside of the classroom, Kenney enjoys many hobbies. “I play bass in a band called Jimmy and The Pickles, I like to row, and I read a lot. And when I’m not trying to be productive, I enjoy playing video games online with my friends," Kenney said.
Kenney hopes to study journalism alongside environmental engineering in his eventual higher education. He believes journalism will act as a stepping stone to obtain his long-standing dream of following in his grandfather's footsteps and pursuing a career as an attorney.
