Writer
Akiko Brielle Antonio is a freshman and a first-year writer for the Century Star. Antonio hopes to expand her creativity to other writing branches of the paper and become more comfortable sharing her writing with others. “I find myself getting bored a lot, and writing is my go-to outlet,” Antonio said.
When she isn’t writing, Antonio mostly spends her time in her house. Normally, finding creative activities to do. Most of her interests revolve around arts and cultures, and she is always trying to find a way to get involved with the artistic world around her.
Antonio comes from the island country of the Philippines, moving to America when she was five. During the summer, she’ll often travel to different places to experience the wonders there. “Being a thrill seeker is hard, you’re always looking for something to be excited about.” So she tries her best to appreciate the little things life has to offer, like seeing the people she cares about most or writing about what she enjoys.
While her family wishes for her to continue their tradition of being a nurse, Antonio seeks to become an author. “I won’t stop until my name and New York Times Best Seller are in the same sentence,” Antonio said.
