The school trips to the Urdd centre in Llangrannog and Abernant offer Bishop Gore pupils a unique and immersive experience in the Welsh language and culture. These trips provide an invaluable chance for pupils to step outside the classroom and engage with Welsh in a natural, supportive environment. Pupils take part in a variety of fun and challenging activities from team-building exercises to outdoor adventures that encourage them to use Welsh in practical, real-life situations.
Being fully immersed in Welsh during these trips helps pupils to develop their language skills outside of a traditional classroom setting. It also strengthens their cultural identity by allowing them to experience Welsh traditions, songs, and social interactions first-hand. The shared experience of working and playing together in Welsh fosters a strong sense of community and belonging among the pupils.
