Note from the Diocese:

Dear Parent/Guardian:

Catholic school education has a long and successful history in the Diocese of Sioux City.

The diocese is blessed to have 16 Catholic school systems maintaining the values and faith

traditions of the past while working toward a viable future.

The Diocese of Sioux City is committed to providing Catholic school education rooted in

faith with a rigorous academic program and a sustainable future. This renewed dedication

“Illuminating Our Path” provides for a spirit of cooperation and prayerful planning. As a

national Catholic school planning firm, we are partnering with the diocese in constructing a

comprehensive strategic growth plan.

As part of an ongoing effort to ensure strong and vibrant Catholic schools, we are excited to

offer you as a parent, an opportunity to share your insights, issues, and concerns in order

to help ensure their long-term sustainability.

As part of the study, we are conducting market research to clearly understand the needs

and perceptions of your school. This analysis is an important component of the planning

process and provides you the opportunity to share more personally your insights, issues,

and concerns regarding your child’s Catholic education. The study link will be shared on

Monday, January 17th and available for participation through Wednesday, January 26th.

Thank you for your participation in this important endeavor. We appreciate the opportunity

to work in partnership with you as we move schools toward a sustainable future.

Know that in the coming months you will have other opportunities to participate in the

planning process in a more in-person fashion. We pray for continued good health for each

of you and your families.

God Bless,

The Meitler Team

January 4 - Happy New Year!

It has been a while since there have been changes to our Covid protocol, but 2022 is bringing some changes. The Bishop Garrigan administration team has spoken to Kossuth Community Health and we will be implementing the following changes as of January 3, 2022

  • Students that test positive will be asked to stay home for 5 days with the onset of symptoms being day 0. If there are no symptoms, please use the test day as day 0. It is recommended, but not required, that students wear a mask for days 6-10.

  • If someone in the home tests positive - Unvaccinated students who are asymptomatic will be asked to stay home for 5 days with the last day of contact being day 0. Vaccinated students may attend school without interruption.

  • If students are in close contact with a non-household member - Monitor symptoms and use your best judgement concerning staying at home.

  • Beginning tomorrow we will provide at-home Covid tests for students who are ill while supplies last. Please contact the school secretary if you would like one.

We appreciate the efforts that were made during the months before break to keep students healthy. We will continue to monitor each classroom and communicate if there are concerns.

  • The Federal Erate program is providing schools with the funds to provide families with devices to use at home. These Chromebooks would be kept in a cart at school, but students in all grades would be able to check out these Chromebooks on a nightly basis. The use of these devices is not linked to quarantine, so they can be used by any students who may need them on a temporary basis. Please indicate by using this survey if your family could benefit from this program. The funds we receive will be determined by this survey. (Your answers will be kept confidential.) Please use this link to indicate that your family would like the opportunity to have a device available.

  • Lunches and breakfasts will continue to be free this year, but we would ask that if you qualify you still complete the free and reduced lunch paperwork. There are many federal funds that are generated by this number. If you do not apply, we will lose some of the funds that we currently receive. The free and reduced lunches are subsidized by the federal government, not Bishop Garrigan. Your participation in this program can only help our funding sources. Please use link to find the forms.
