Ms. Leirmo

Thank you for visiting Mound’s Art Website!

Our Art Motto is to "Grow Creatively"

I am truly blessed to work with such talented students who strive to put forth their best effort in their art work; while using their imagination and having fun.

My name is Renee Leirmo. I am the Art teacher at Mound Elementary. This is my twenty second year as an educator in Texas public school system. I view myself as a life long learner and solution seeker, searching for new strategies and techniques to help ensure student achievement.

I am a 1995 graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington and have been teaching since Fall of 1995. I participated in UTA Education Department's CREST program from 1994-1995. I graduated with a Bachelor Degree of Arts in English with a minor in Education. I have attended two years of graduate school at UTA. I have teacher certifications in grades Pre-K-8th, ESL, and All Level Art.

Previous Teaching Experience:

I taught for eight years in Arlington ISD. In Burleson, I worked at The Academy at Nola Dunn for five years teaching kindergarten, first grade, reading and math support for grades K-2nd. I have taught art at Mound Elementary for 9 fantastic years and was Mound Elementary’s teacher of the year for 2014.

I have two sons Caleb and Josh who attend UNT while earning degrees in Engineering. I enjoy attending numerous sporting events, working on various art projects, planting flowers in my yard, visiting art museums and galleries, taking, art, yoga and MixxedFit classes.
